Amor Eterno, Maria Julia Riquetti Avitia has made her brilliant and radiant entrance into paradise on February 9, 2021.
Julia was surrounded by her adoring family including her daughters, Lourdes Baca Riquetti and Darlene Garcia Sammons, April Ferguson; step-son, Michael Baca and wife, Dolores Baca; her grandchildren, Marissa Riquetti Rodriguez Torres and husband Kyle Torres, Yisrael Dhamian Lopez-Riquetti; step-grandchildren; great-grandson, Kairo Milan Nathaniel Torres; and our precious bambino that is currently baking in the oven; as well as our beloved angel, Clerice Carillo.
She was preceded in death by her step-sons, Arthur Baca, Richard Baca; and step-granddaughter, Birdie Denero.
Julias father, Eustaquio Riquetti, was a doctor that was born in Castellucio Valmaggiore, Italia. Her father has been mentioned in numerous books regarding Pancho Villa. Her father was actually taken hostage by Poncho Villa for numerous months. Dr. Riquetti was held at gunpoint to remove a bullet from Poncho Villa. Julia’s mother was Guadalupe Avitia Riquett and was born in La Quemada Chihuahua, Mexico. Her mother was a seamstress and housewife. Julias siblings are Michaelina, Manuel, Valentin, Jesus, Maria, Arcelia, Petra and Esperanza Riquetti.
Julia was a dedicated nutrition teacher for over 20 years. She received her degree from New Mexico State University. She was also a Sous Chef to her late husband, Jose Guadalupe Bustos Baca. Together, they hosted numerous events held at La Fonda Inn as well as the Hilton Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They were commissioned to host a dinner Gala for President John F. Kennedy. Julia was also Co-owner of Chili-Pinion INC. With her late husband, Sargent Jose Lucio Gomez.
Julia was a self taught historian in European Studies. Julia’s love and passion for languages led her to study of Greek, Hebrew, Latin, Italian, Arabic, Portuguese, English, French, German and of course her primary language was Spanish. Julia's love for travel was endless. She Traveled to over 40 countries in total. Her statement was that travel and exploring other countries was obtaining an extraordinary degree of respect for all cultures.
Julia loved and appreciated music, dance, theatre, travel, languages, fine arts and poetry. Julias deep faith in God led her to explore The Life of Jesus and traveled to the birthplace of Israel numerous times showing her faith by example to all. Julia was selfless, loving, kind, giving, humorous, brilliant and beyond extraordinary. She lit up a room with her dynamic and beautiful soul. Julia will forever be embedded in our hearts forever and a day.
