Age 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, June 26, 2014. She is survived by her daughters, H. Blaine Wimberly and husband, Dick, and Anne M. Clark; grandchildren, Hugh Wimberly, Michael J. Hansen, Melissa A. Potter and husband, Brock, and Nigel Wimberly; great-grandchildren, Tye Potter, Draven Potter, and Keira Potter; and numerous step-children and step-grandchildren from her marriage to Bob. Ms. Cocks was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Combs; and her sister, Anne Vaughan. She was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church. Julia loved the outdoors and nature. Ms. Cocks made a spiritual revolution in being and living sober through her friendship with Bill W. Cremation has taken place and Julia's life will be celebrated on Monday, July 14, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH - University. Memorial gifts may be made to The Nature Conservancy in New Mexico, 212 E.
