Judith "Judy" Lois Tripp age 81, passed away in Albuquerque on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the company of her sisters. Judy was born in 1943 in Albuquerque, N.M. and was a life-long resident. Judy was a fiercely independent, passionate, multi-talented, intelligent woman who loved life and who demonstrated a spirit of adventure in almost everything she did! She overcame adversities and could often be found lending a helping hand to others. She had a vibrant spirit, a smile that could light up a room and charisma that drew people to her. Judy brought passion to almost everything she did as well as to relationships with her family and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Daphine D. Tripp and Robert L. Tripp. Judy was the oldest of three children, leaving behind her two sisters Janet and Jennifer. Judy graduated from The NM School for the Deaf in Santa Fe. Later she obtained her Graduate degree from NM Highlands University. She retired after a successful 40+ year career at Sandia National Laboratory.
Judy was active in the community and had a wide variety of hobbies. She enjoyed playing almost any card or board game and was a fierce competitor! She followed in the footsteps of her parents by becoming a life master at duplicate bridge and she continued playing bridge both in person and online, almost up to the day she died. She was a talented artist and recently got involved in iconography. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and crochet. Judy was active in many volunteer and community activities and she received numerous awards and accolades for her community involvement. Judy had a strong interest in ancestry and spent many hours researching and documenting family history. She loved animals and her greatest joy in life was the many fur-babies she had over the years. She loved each and every one as her precious babies; from her first dog "Chi-Chi" to the one she sadly left behind, her beloved, adorable little "Heidi".
In addition to her sisters, Janet Tripp Gere and Jennifer Tripp Zillich; Judy is survived by her nephew Keith Ellis, her nieces, Karli Venable, Samantha Parker-Zillich and Leann Zillich as well as her grand-nephews Noah and Ephraim Venable. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Gone but never forgotten and always loved!
