Juan Adan Montoya

Juan “Dan” Adan Montoya, 75, of Albuquerque NM, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Juan was born in Anton Chico, NM on November 24, 1941. He graduated from West Las Vegas High School and attended University of Albuquerque. He ran for several district positions in his early years and always had an endearing work ethic.

Juan was an active member of the Air Force and served in the Air Force Guard where he retired with 33 years of service. He worked for the Albuquerque Metropolitan Courts until his retirement then proceeded to run a successful processing service up until his death.

Juan is survived by the mother of his children, Judy Montoya; his daughters, Kathy Montoya and Christine Benavidez and son in law, Scott Benavidez; grandchildren, Adrian Montoya, Andrea Montoya, Abby Benavidez, and William Benavidez; and great grandchildren, Karen Ortiz, Matthew, and Aaron Aguilera; and many loving nieces and nephews. Juan is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Montoya; his son, Adam Montoya.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at FRENCH –University. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Albuquerque Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4920 Wyoming Blvd NE. A private burial will be held for the family at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday June 20, 2017.
