J Stephen Primrose

October 10, 1934 — April 13, 2018

J Stephen Primrose was born in Norman, Oklahoma, on October 10, 1934, to his loving parents Odies and Blanch Primrose, and passed away on April 13, 2018, at the age of 83.  Through the journey of life, he kept his faith in Jesus as a cornerstone and now lives in Heaven with his Lord and Savior for eternity.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Primrose, of fifty-seven years, and their three children Sherri Spivey, Stephanie Bash, and J Stephen Primrose Jr.  He was also blessed with and survived by his six grandchildren; Bayley, Breck, and Bryce Bash, James Spivey, and Dalton and Parker Primrose.  He is also survived by his direct family; Turner, Ben, Guy, and Vern Primrose, Anna Urban, and Patty Smith, and their children and grandchildren.  J Stephen Primrose was raised in Norman, Oklahoma, where he graduated from the University of Oklahoma.  He then went on to attend dental school at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.  After dental school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Mountain Home, Idaho, serving as a dentist.  J Stephen Primrose then moved to Kansas City for his residency in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Mercy Hospital.  Later, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he started and ran his own pediatric dental practice for nearly thirty years.  In retirement, he and his wife were able to travel to many different places, enjoyed time with their family, and even live in other cities until finally returning to Albuquerque in 2013.  From the beginning, J Stephen Primrose was a strong Christian man who was full of life, fun, and compassion.  He always encouraged others, helping them accomplish great things. He was funny, helpful and cared about the people in his life, always making sure all were given every opportunity to succeed.  He loved to garden and grow plants of all kinds, and his true love was growing flowers in his rose gardens.  J Stephen Primrose also loved to spend time in the mountains at the family cabin where he and his family enjoyed countless good times and made lasting memories including cookouts, making homemade ice cream, playing cards, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.  All in all, a life well lived here on Earth with many significant accomplishments.  He will be missed by his family and friends, but we know he is in Heaven and someday will reunite with the people he loved and who loved him so much.  His life in Heaven will surely be full and we are sure he will eagerly await seeing his family and friends in the years to follow.

On April 16, 2018, his family came together to hold a memorial service at FRENCH – Wyoming  and  Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to celebrate his life and to say their goodbyes to such a wonderful man until they see him once again in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home, PO Box 629, Portales, New Mexico 88130 Phone 575-359-1254.
