Joyce Meyer

On March 13, 2018, J. Joyce Meyer joined her husband and love of her life, Eugene (Gene), in Heaven after a 17 year separation. Joyce was born in 1927 in Kenova WVA and married in 1945. She and Gene moved to Albuquerque in 1953 where they raised three daughters, Sharon Olsen (Robert), Diana Billingsley (John) & Kathy McNamara (Patrick). She remained within sight of “her mountains" (the Sandias) until July 2017 when she moved to Maryland to be closer to her daughter Sharon. Joyce was a graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School and The Ashland School of Business. She worked as an administrative secretary in Civil Engineering at the University of New Mexico for over 20 years. After retirement, she and Gene wintered in Ft Myers, FL for 15 years and made time for international travel. Those were some of the happiest years of her life. She resolved that her daughters would be academically successful and stressed advanced education resulting in two daughters with Master’s degrees and one with a PhD. She is pre-deceased by her husband (Eugene Joseph Meyer); her father and mother (Stanley and Elizabeth Lambert) and her eldest brother (Stan Lambert). She is survived by two sisters, Yvonne Arrington (Ashland KY) and Flo Ella Frazer (Gulf Shores AL); a brother, Ronny Lambert (Irving TX); four granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren. Joyce and Gene made the world a better place for so many. They are loved and will be missed terribly. There will be a viewing and Rosary on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 6:00p.m.  FRENCH- Lomas. Mass will be on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church (2532 Vermont NE). A private interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s name to Annunciation Catholic School would be appreciated (2532 Vermont St NE, Albuquerque NM 87110).
