Josie T. Ortega, age 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died Friday, May 19, 2017. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Dale and husband, Jim of FL and Elisa K. Ortega of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Alana Rodriguez and husband, Patrick, Brandon Bilak and wife, Kristyn, Stacy Newman, Danya Tammaro, and Alexis Ortega-Bond; ten great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Mariah, Jonathan, Jadon, Lorenzo, Jaiden, Emma, Raynah, and Alexandra; sister, Cleo Martinez; and numerous other relatives and friends. Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Lena Sandoval Jacques; husband, Louis Ortega, Jr.; sons, Richard Louis Ortega and Mark Anthony Ortega; and brothers, Carlos Marin, and Jesse Jacques. She was born in 1930 in Clovis, NM and after moving to Albuquerque was an active member of The Shrine of St. Bernadette. Josie's greatest love was her family which she enjoyed spending time. She was a loving mother, grandma, big nana, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 9:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
