Josie Buenabenta

November 6, 1935 — June 28, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Josie Buenabenta, on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 6, 1935, in Encino, New Mexico, to Miguel and Beatrice Tenorio, Josie lived a full and vibrant life.

Josie was the loving wife of Louis Buenabenta Sr., who predeceased her 22 years ago. Together, they raised a family of four children who will forever cherish her memory. As a devoted homemaker, Josie took great pride in caring for her family and was an exceptional cook, known for her delicious meals. She also played a significant role in raising her grandchildren, providing love, guidance, and support.

A woman of great faith, Josie was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish for many years. She was a kind and generous soul who always put others before herself. Her family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, gentle nature, and unwavering love.

Josie is survived by her five children: Louise, Jules, Renee, Louis Jr., and Brandon. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 301 S. Camino del Pueblo - Bernalillo, NM 87004. The burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., with a reception afterward.

Rest in peace, dear mother and grandmother. You will forever be missed and always remembered. Until we meet again, we love you.
