Josephine Valdez

Josephine (Josie) Pauline Valdez, age 84, beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Josie was born on Monday, April 29, 1940 in Dixon, NM to Eduardo and Mary Sanchez.

Josie was extremely talented and had many hobbies that she was passionate about with sewing, crocheting and embroidery being her favorite.

She was never one to sit still and was always found working on projects such as: sewing beautiful blankets for every member of her family, embroidering beautiful unique pieces, crocheting, ceramics, painting, puzzles, yard art, playing her guitar, playing her piano, and cooking for everyone, to name just a few.

She was very musical and taught herself to play the guitar, piano and harmonica. She loved to sing and she sang in her church choir for many years. We love to imagine her in heaven singing with the Angels.

She was extremely loving and friendly, and made new friends everywhere she went. She was a natural care-giver and spent most of her life taking care of her entire family as well as her sick and elderly neighbors, and never expected anything in return. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Sanchez; sister, Doreen Mora and brother, Edward Sanchez. She is survived by her husband, Tom Valdez; daughter, Vera Joiner and husband, Charles; daughter, Myra Torrez; son, Carl Michael Valdez; son, Paul Valdez.

Grandchildren: Nicholas White, Jacob Joiner, Michael Joiner, Brandon Torrez and wife, Catee, Noelle Likovic and husband, Steven. Great-grandchildren: Caydon Torrez, Daxton Likovic and Cashton Likovic.

And many loved brothers and sisters. Per her request, there will be no services.
