Josephine T. Garcia, 89, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Marie Sheahan and husband, Dennis, Jerome Garcia and partner, Linda, Christopher Garcia and wife, Naya, Christine Beasley and husband, Mark and Johnny Garcia and wife, Laura; seven grandchildren; and two great grandsons; and many other family and friends.
Fita was preceded in death by her husband, of 60 years, Ernest Garcia; her parents, Manuel and Amalia Tenorio and her brother, Tom Tenorio.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from St Joseph’s University and pursued her lifelong passion of teaching elementary students for three decades . She was most herself and most fulfilled while in the classroom teaching. Josephine also enjoyed painting, writing and singing, and her greatest joy was spending time with family, friends, and students.
A Rosary will be recited Friday, November 10, 2017, 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass, 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Private Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
