Josephine B. Sandoval

It is with great sadness that after a long battle with cancer we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Josephine Sandoval on January 1st, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eliseo and Rosenda Roybal; her beloved husband of 57 years, Leroy Sandoval; and most recently, her close sister, Carmen Vigil.

Josephine will always be remembered as the consummate hostess. She loved to entertain and always enjoyed time with her friends and family. She retired from Sandia National Labs after 33 years of service. After retirement she stayed busy with volunteer work until she was cast into the role of grandma. That was the role she treasured. Her greatest joy in life came from her family. There is nothing that she wouldn't have done for us.

She is survived by her three children, Ruby Williamson (Brad Uhrig), Alex Sandoval and Les Sandoval; grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Williamson and Noah and Victoria Sandoval. She is also survived by close nieces and nephews and longtime family friend, Lydia Paiz.

Services will be Monday January 8, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 812 Edith Blvd. NE. Josephine loved children and in honoring that the family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
