Age 94, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died December 22, 2012. She is survived by her two nephews, which she raised as her sons, Patrick R. Werick and wife, Betty of Scottsdale, Arizona and John D. Sweeney and wife, Heather of Yuma, Arizona; grandchildren, Patrick F. Werick and wife, Sharon, Dennis S. Werick and wife, Hope, Daniel Sweeney and wife, Erica, Patrick Sweeney, Michael Sweeney, and Steven Sweeney; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fernando Fred Garcia. Both were members of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque, where they developed life-long and loving friendships. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for over 30 years, enjoyed fishing and playing cards with both family and friends. She was an active, strong and vibrant woman her entire 94 years and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Rosary will be recited by Deacon Ruben Barela on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 7:00 pm at FRENCH-University. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:00 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. Reverend William E. Young will be conducting Mass and her nephew, Chuck Dubois, will recite the readings. Pallbearers will be Patrick F. Werick, Daniel Sweeney, Preston Dubois, Abe Apodaca, Joe E. Repichowski and Jeff J. Repichowski. Private burial will follow at a later date at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her deceased husband, Fernando Garcia. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association in her honor.
