Josephine Olason (Olason) Bachand

Josephine Olason Bachand, 97, resident of Albuquerque since 1948, passed away on October 26, 2018.

Jo was an amazing artist, painting many original pieces and very involved with The Rosemalers of NM. She was also a great lover of all crafts, making projects for friends, family and charities. She also loved her plants and tending her yard. She was an inspiration and kindhearted role matriarch to her family.

Jo was preceded in death by Gordon R. Bachand, husband of 45 years; and daughters, Jo Anne Rhudy and Barbara J. Bachand.

She is survived by her son, Richard and Patsy Bachand of Peoria, AZ; and daughter, Bette L. Foster of Albuquerque, NM; her grandkids, Charles and Margaret Bachand of Raleigh, NC, Lori and Gary Smith of Melbourne, Australia, Jan and Bryan Kopman of Chicago, IL, TJ and Mike Pawlik of St. Louis, MO, Mahalia C. Foster of Albuquerque, NM, Jarrod Foster and partner, Michelle Buffington of Albuquerque, NM; and her 14 great-grandkids, Kristen, Katherine, Kayia, Aria, Luke, Tommy, Kimberly, Madeline, James, Seth, Bryn, Lane, Elle and Luke.

Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either Juvenile Diabetes Assoc. or Breast Cancer Research Assoc.
