Joseph E. Montano, age 89, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, January 28, 2016. Born in Gallup NM on December 10, 1926, he proudly served as a Pharmacy Mate in the US Navy and retired from a rich career as an Administrative Superintendent with the City of Albuquerque.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sophie; his children, Edward Montano and wife Gerri, Pat Montano and partner Nancy and Dianne Montano; 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and sister Lillian Ramirez. He also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warriors or the Alzheimer's Disease Association in his name.
