Joe Massey, a gentle soul taken too early, passed away with his family at his side after fighting a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 64 years old.
He will be dearly missed and has left behind a heartbroken family. Joe was born in Albuquerque, NM. and spent his early life in Albuquerque, Hawaii, Alaska, and New Zealand. He was a graduate of Del Norte HS and earned an Associates Degree at CNM for Electronics and HVAC. He was a wizard at repairing anything from cars, generators, bikes, boats, washers, dryers, nothing was too small or too big to "fix".
Joe was predeceased by his parents Calvin L and Margaret I. Massey and his sister Jan Paolone. He is survived by his wife Paula, and his son Nick and daughter Shelby (Korian) , his proudest achievements. Joe is also survived by his granddaughter Nadiya True Chambers and Kannon Carter Chambers, Brothers John (Nina), Jim, sister Judy (Bill) and sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joe had a successful career as an Implant Tech at Philips Semiconductor and UNM Center for High Technology. Joe's true passion was his hunting, fishing, and his family. He was loved by many, truly known by few, and will be missed by all. We will find solace in knowing he is at peace now and will take his place watching over us until we meet again.
