March 2, 1975 — September 29, 2024

Albuquerque

Joseph (Joe) James Kramer, 49, of Albuquerque, NM, died on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Joe was born in March of 1975, in DuPage County, IL, the son of Joseph and Diane Kramer.

Joe married Susan Core on a beautiful May morning overlooking the Sandia Mountains while celebrating with mounds of bacon and multiple types of pie.

Joe loved being Andrew's dad and taught him important life lessons like "what to hide from Mom" and "what to do when Mom found out you were hiding something."

Joe worked for Thomson Reuters for almost twenty-five years as a technical implementation manager.

Joe especially loved surprising Susan with cars that did not run and tools for hobbies she did not know he had. Joe had a soft spot for babies, puppies, and kittens, while dutifully tolerating chickens when necessary. He delighted in cold weather, traveling, and good food.

Joe occupied the honored position of functional cleaning coordinator for Tuesday Night Family Dinner for its entirety. He held the head of table position on the East end during Breakfast Club, as well as being a long-time player in the Thursday Night DnD Group. Joe found immense pleasure in the time spent with his friends and family.

Joe is survived by his wife and son, Susan and Andrew Core along with a large loving family that includes Kathi Kramer Turner (Jay, Molly, Josh), Brian Clay (Kristin, Austin), Jane Core Yatzeck (Jim, Sarah, Naomi), Andy Core (JoAnne), and many more.

Preceding Joe in death are his parents, Joseph Jack Kramer and Diane Sue Kramer, as well as his older sister, Patrica Jo Kramer.

Joe's Interment Service will be held privately.

Joe and his family would like to thank all of the staff at the New Mexico Cancer Center for the decade of love and support they provided along with their exceptional medical care.

We ask that any memorial donations be directed to Albuquerque Kennel Kompadres.
