We are devastated to announce the unexpected passing of our son, Joseph "JoJo" Lucero. Joseph passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 24, he was surrounded by his family and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by both his great-grandparents, Suazo, Muniz and Lucero; and his uncle, Norman Suazo. He is survived by his parents, Rochelle and Carlos Lucero; sisters, Ashley (Chris), nephews, Mason,Lucas and new baby to come in 2025; and Elena (Orlando); maternal grandparents, Brenda and Beto Zamarron; paternal grandparents, Pat and Orlinda Lucero; aunt, Leslie; uncles, Anthony Jr, Patrick (Andrea), and Lorenzo; godparents, Carl and Yvonne; and many cousins.
Joseph was without a doubt the most loving son this world could ask for, Joseph was an enthusiastic skateboarder and tagger. He would always make sure that everyone was safe and had a place to stay. Joseph made an impression on the lives of all those around him, Joseph will never be forgotten.
A viewing will be held Friday March 7, 2025, 5:30 p.m., with a rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Spirit Cathedral, 1001 Barelas Rd. SW, with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Calderon, D'Angelo Dixon, Chris Valverde, Joseph Valverde, Pablo Martinez, Cesar Tovar, Clem Martinez, and Adrian Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Lucero, Patrick Lucero, Carl Dixon, Leslie Rivera, Fritos Lovato, and Angela Lovato.
