Joseph O. (Jody) Apodaca, born Friday, September 7, 1962, was welcomed into Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Jody was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Apodaca; brothers, Paul Raymond, Ronald Gene, and James Armand.
Jody is survived by his mother, Alvina P. Apodaca; son, Jeremy De La Cruz; partner, Tracy Lovato; brothers, Michael Apodaca and wife, Darlene, and Terry Apodaca; sisters, Sandra Jenkins, Sylvia Saiz, Cynthia Apodaca, and his twin sister, Nancy Apodaca; as well as several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
Jody will continue to live on in our hearts and cherished memories, his wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Jody graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1980 and lettered in the Marching Band, he was 1st chair and loved playing his trumpet. Jody loved doing many things from working on cars, carpentry, could do anything related to home remodeling, and he was best in laying tile. Jody also collected airplanes as a hobby.
Jody lived life his way and by his terms. He always loved and cherished his family.
Mass will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021, 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Place SE. Jody will be laid to rest immediately following the services, 11:30 a.m., at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE. Viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles before the Mass. FRENCH- University will be handling the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Michael Apodaca, Terry Apodaca, Jeremy De La Cruz, Lee Padilla, Lorenso Jaramillo, and Antonio Nieto.
