Joseph V. "Wayne" Ankner died peacefully on February 20, 2016. He was born in Selfridge, ND on July 22, 1926. Wayne served in the US Army during World War II. He was a skilled automobile/diesel parts man, mechanic and craftsman.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn; daughters, Theresa Encinias and Karen Coffman (Charles ); son, Michael Ankner; and sisters, Helen (Irv), Cecilia (Bill) and Phyllis. He was devoted to his grandchildren, Ruby Encinias, Christopher and Lauren Coffman; great-grandchild, Priscilla Zenise Monet Salazar. Wayne is preceded in death by his mother and father; four brothers; three sisters; daughter; and a granddaughter.
The Rosary will be recited Sunday, February 28, 2016, 3:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University. Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 29, 2016, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd NW. Interment will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
