Jose "J.D." Desiderio Chacon

Jose Chacon, 92, beloved husband and father, was called to his eternal resting place on February 24, 2018. He entered this world on November 9, 1925 in Cebolla, NM, born to Jose and Simodocea Chacon. Jose was a deeply religious man who loved his family first and foremost. He enjoyed various hobbies which included woodworking, going to the casino, gardening, various outdoor activities, and watching sports such as baseball, boxing, wrestling, and most recently MMA. He was a singularly caring man, and cared deeply for others, whom he put before himself, Jose was proud to have served our country in the army during World War II, and worked hard to provide for his family throughout his life. Jose was a man of many skills which served him and his family well throughout his lifetime and beyond. Jose will be dearly missed and was loved by all whom his life touched.

Jose was proceeded in death by his parents; all of his siblings and one great-granddaughter. He is survived by his spouse of 49 wonderful years, Gloria Chacon; son, Joseph and wife Melissa; his 4 grandchildren, Arron, Trenton, Derik, and LeeAnna;10 great grandchildren and with countless nephews and nieces from both sides of the family.

Pallbearers; nephew, Jamie Martinez; nephew, Edward Sanchez; niece, Janice Madrid; nephew, Jonathan Quintana; nephew, Cipie Maez; nephew, Richard Ortiz. Honorary pallbearers; Arron Reagan, Trenton Reagan, Derik Reagan, LeeAnna Reagan, Marqus Romero, Tracy Binon, Teddie Romero, Nathanal Martinez, Makyla Reagan, Fabian Martinez, Maria Romero and Rebecca Quintana.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH –Westside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Jose on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph’s On the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Drive NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120, with Monsignor Lambert Joseph Luna​ presiding. Interment will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at The Santa Fe National Cemetery.
