Jose and Josefina Duarte

Jose Luis, Sr. and Josefina Alejandrina, 92 and 84 respectively, were reunited in Heaven on January 8, 2021.   Jose died shortly before Josefina on December 26, 2020.  They are survived by their children, Jose Enrique Duarte, Jose Luis Duarte, Jr., Elizabeth Ann Duarte, and John Charles Duarte.  The Duarte's also leave behind nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.  They were preceded in death by their parents, Gabriel and Juana Duarte and Carlos and Socorro Diaz; as well as several siblings.  Jose and Josefina were married on July 6th, 1958 in Havana, Cuba.  Later, they and their infant sons left their life in Cuba to search for the American dream. Through hard work and faith, they found it in Albuquerque, New Mexico building a successful business and raising a wonderful family.  Private visitations will be held between Noon and 5 P.M. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, visitations will be livestreamed for those joining remotely.  Jose and Josefina will be laid to rest together Thursday, January 14, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
