Jose Tony Vigil

Jose (Tony) Vigil, 80, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016. Tony was born in Ocate, New Mexico to Seferino Vigil and Lucia Duran. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alicia Vigil; his sisters, Marcella Vigil Tardio and Edith Potyondy and his brother, Amadeo Maestas Jr.
Tony will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anabelle and Olivia Vigil and his brother, and sister-in-law, Tomasio and Sonja Vigil. Tony retired from the US Navy in 1974 before beginning his career with the US Post Office, and retiring from there in 1995. Sir Knight Vigil was a fourth-degree member of Assembly 3309, Church of the Incarnation.
A Viewing will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM.
Interment will take place Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help veterans through the Knights of Columbus Assembly 3309, www.kofc.org.
