MORA, JOSE VIDAL
Born May 21, 1930, a longtime resident of Alameda, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, with his daughter Anita Mora-Chavez at his side. He is preceded in death by parents, Josephina and Juan Mora; step-father, Fernando Saiz; brothers-in-law, Bennie G. Tafoya, Mike Rodarte and Frank Lovato; and niece, Eileen Tafoya. He is survived by daughters, Anita Mora-Chavez and husband, Kenny, residents of Denver, Bernice Trujillo and husband, Sam, residents of NM and Evelyn Chavez and husband, Frank, also a residents of NM; sisters, Julia Tafoya, Isabel Rodarte, Betty Mora-Lovato, Carmen Gutierrez and husband, Benito, and Rosemary DeVargas and husband, Arthur; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; God children, Robert Rodarte and Paul Tafoya; Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Jose was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion Post 69. The Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, 8:00 a.m., with the Mass to follow at 9:00 a.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery Friday, October 26, 2012 at 9:45 a.m. Pallbearers are Paul Tafoya, Lawrence Tafoya, Lorenzo Tafoya, Andy Barela, Walter Rodarte and Frank Gutierrez. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Rodarte, Gabriel Rodarte, Alfonso Tenorio and Rudy Tenorio. Special thanks to Paul Tafoya and Monica Tafoya, guardians.
