Jose Leos Flores

Age 79, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Leos was born and raised in Santa Rosa, NM. He graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1954. He was an All-State basketball player. Leos attended Lamar College in Colorado before being drafted into the US Army, serving in the Korean War. Leos worked full-time for the NM Army National Guard, attaining the rank of First Sergeant, retiring after 36 years of service. He was an avid Horseshoe player, participating regularly in the Senior Olympics. Leos was preceded in death by his mother, Arcelia. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Helen; his daughters, Juanita Flores-Hull and husband, Rick, Debbie Sarinana, and Frances Flores; sons, Leos Flores, Jr. and wife, Carol, and Leon Flores and wife, Judy. Leos adored his eight grandchildren, Samantha Sarinana, Marcus Flores, Dominic Sarinana, Laura Flores, Sarah Sarinana, Montana Hull, Cecilia Flores, and Jakob Flores, all of whom brought him great pride. Friends may visit Tuesday, December 30, 2014, 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas, with Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
