Jose Esteban Martinez

Jose “Joe” Esteban Martinez passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 94 on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in Rio Rancho, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly; daughter, Mary Agnes; grandson, Benjie; parents; brothers; and one sister. Jose is survived by his son, Steve (Mary); daughter, Joann (Philip); son, Adrian (Frances); daughter, Cleo (Richard-deceased); daughter, Cindy; daughter, Marilyn (Dan); daughter, Teresa (Donald); son, Robert (Stella); and also by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren. He was born in Dulce on November 22, 1924, to parents, Jose and Cleolilde Martinez. Jose was a proud WWII Veteran and retired from Kirtland Air Force Base. He was a devoted family man that adored his loved ones, making sure to have family Sunday dinners ready and taking all of his many children on family trips. He was so loved and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 7, 2019, 10:00 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church at 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Jose’s honor to Disabled American Veterans www.dav.org.
