With the most heavy heart we announce the passing of Jose S. Archuleta. Jose, as many knew him, was called to heaven on April 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving daughters. Jose was born to Simon and Antonia Archuleta on May 29, 1935, in Santa Fe. He married the love of his life, Ernestine Casaus on July 7, 1962.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ernestine, his mother and father Antonia and Simon, daughter Lisa Ann Archuleta, and sister Mary Julia Jirón. Jose joined the Air Force, serving his country in Korea and France. After being honorably discharged, he began his career as a Radiologic Technologist. He worked as a Radiology Manager in various hospitals in Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
He participated in the De Vargas staff in 1982, and served as a Caballero for many years. He retired in 2014 to care for his wife Tina. Jose was a die hard Denver Bronco fan. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Therese (Osman) Chaparro, Christina (John) Givens and Michelle Archuleta. Godson Joseph Martínez, goddaughter Donna Blea Forrester. 11 grandchildren, Miranda, Ramon (Chloe), Aaron (Brooklyn), Andrew(Jordin), Jessica, Patrick, Emily, Alisha, Isaiah, Michael and Joseph. 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.
Services will be held at French Funeral and Cremations 9300 Golf Course Rd NW, Albuquerque NM 87114. Rosary at 10:00 am, Memorial Service at 10:30 am with a reception to follow the memorial service at the funeral home.
Interment at 2:30 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
