Jose Antonio Rodriguez
April 5, 1937 - November 23, 2019
Jose was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was a loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Francesca (Panchita) Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife, Tomasita; his daughters, Yolanda Medrano (Steve) and LaVern Rodriguez. He is also survived by his only grandchild and name sake Jose Antonio Rodriguez; his twin brother, Gerald Telles, who lives in San Diego; and numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Jose served in the United States Navy from 1954 through 1962 and returned to Albuquerque to begin his 42-year career with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of several organizations including the Fraternal Order of Police and VFW Post 69. He was also a longtime parishioner with the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He loved working in his yard and talking with the neighbors. He always kept well-informed by reading the newspaper daily and in his free time he would enjoy watching western TV shows. He will be missed dearly by all. A Viewing will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 5:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. A Mass will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave NW, 87102. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
