Jose "Papa" Alvarado

ALVARADO, JOSE JEREMIAS "PAPA"Age 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1982, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 31, 2012. He is survived by wife of 50 years, Faustina Alvarado; children Martha Lopez and husband, David of Albuquerque Samuel Elias Alvarado and wife, Sughey of San Antonio, TX, Ana Elizabeth Alvarado of Albuquerque, and Jairo "Hydro" Alvarado of Albuquerque; grandchildren Ruben, Raquel, Samuel Jr., David Jr., Ruth, Ashley, Sasha, Mayra, Jessica, Gabriel, Jorge, Jose, Lilliana, Luis, David, Jairo Eduardo, Trinity and Sophia; great-grandchildren Kaylee, Jezelle, Valen, Thomas, Christopher, Nicole, Emerald, Eden, Jakob, Melody, Elizabeth and Samuel; siblings Leonor, Nellis, Blanca, Jose Isabel, Angelica, Lidia, Daniel, and Juan. Mr. Alvarado was preceded in death by his daughters Anna Arely Alvarado and Ruth Arely Alvarado. He was born in Nueva Esparta, El Salvador. He moved to Albuquerque in 1982 because of the civil war and to provide a better life for his family. Along with his wife, Faustina, Jose was a member of Iglesia Bautista Bethania Central, pastored by Pastor Hilcias Barrios. Mr. Alvarado delighted in preaching, worshiping, writing, composing, and singing. He especially loved to share the Gospel. Friends may visit French - University Chapel, Saturday August 4 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. An evening prayer service will be held at First Fruit Avenue Spanish Baptist Church, 812 Fruit Avenue NW. on Monday, August 6 at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at First Fruit Avenue Spanish Baptist Church, Tuesday, August 7 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1100 Edith Blvd. NE.
