Jonathan Andrew Lozano, age 18, a resident of Los Lunas, NM since 2008, died Thursday, February 12, 2015. He is survived by his father, John W. Lozano, and step-mother, Donnarae Saenz-Lozano, both of Los Lunas; sister, Jennifer Lozano, and brother, Christopher Lozano and wife, Beatrice. Andrew, as many referred to him, was a sweet, godly, young man who enjoyed life despite having Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He was involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) in Florida and in New Mexico. He was named Shamrock Ambassador, Fill the Boot Ambassador, and the State Goodwill Ambassador for MDA. He helped educate the public and raise money for MDA by encouraging partners who sponsored MDA such as Lowes Hardware store in Los Lunas, Giant convenient stores, and Bernalillo and Valencia County Firefighters. He received many awards that included recognition from Governor, Bill Richardson, and the New Mexico State Senate for his work as the 2010 State Goodwill Ambassador of the New Mexico Chapter of MDA. Andrew did not allow his physical disability prevent him from getting the most out of life. He was co-pilot of a small aircraft, rode in a street rated Formula One vehicle, went to the Give Kids The World Amusement Park through the Make a Wish Foundation, met Dennis Anderson, owner of the monster truck Grave Digger, seen a space shuttle launch at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, survived Hurricanes Dennis, Katrina and Wilma, and traveled various parts of the US, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. His passion primarily was classic cars and his life motto was "I CAN, THEREFORE, I WILL." He had a kind and godly heart and his life touched many people in a special way. He will always be remembered. Memorial Services will be held Friday, February 20, 2015, 12:00 p.m., at Calvary Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM.
