Jon “Warner” Little was born 82 years ago in Albuquerque. He succumbed to pneumonia December 2, 2017, after a long battle with dementia. He married Marilyn Howard, his high school sweetheart, on May 31, 1959.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons, Mike and Ron; and sister, Judy Auger of California. Warner graduated from Highland High in 1953. He earned two Bachelor’s degrees, Business Administration and Economics from UNM in 1962 and was a Phi Delta Theta. He spent six years in the Army Reserve. He has been a regular attendee and Bible student at Del Norte Baptist Church since 2005. Warner loved the outdoors where he regularly communed with God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and was very active in conservation work for many years, receiving many awards. He was a licensed real estate broker for 35 years, earning the CCIM and CRS designations. He had his own realty company, Little-Brown & Co., Inc. for over 25 years. He was a well-respected, honest businessman who showed compassion to others by helping those who needed financial or counseling aid. He and Marilyn enjoyed ballroom dancing for 65 years and he also played piano. He was an avid reader of history, biographies, and New Mexico. They traveled the U.S. extensively, as well as Canada. Warner was able to fulfill his “big dream” of fishing in New Zealand in 1986.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 8, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery Blvd. NE, with Pastor Kevin Warner officiating. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
