Jolene Morris

d. October 2, 2015

Our beloved Mother, Jolene Morris, died peacefully in her sleep October 2, 2015. Jolene was born on June 20, 1926 in Fredrick, Oklahoma. She and her brothers, Bill and Lloyd, both preceding her in death, were born to parents, Edna Estes and Homer Bryant. The Bryant family moved to Clovis, New Mexico when Jolene was one. She attended Clovis High School and later worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Clovis until she transferred to Albuquerque. It was in Albuquerque that she met her husband, Jack Morris, who has been waiting for her with open arms in Heaven. Jack and Jolene married on July 3, 1947.

Jack and Jolene moved to Taos, New Mexico and bought the Taos Steakhouse on the Taos Plaza in 1948. They decided they needed a change; 6 years later in 1954 they bought the Taos Drug with Jack's brother Kenneth and his wife Anne.

Jack and Jolene had two daughters, Linda, married to Raymond Gignac and Cindy, married to Tom Shroba. They had 5 Grandchildren: Jason Gignac, Melissa Kelley, Kristin Gignac, Janelle and Jenny Shroba; and 6 Great Grandchildren: Yasmine, Raymond, and Robert Kelley, Jaron and Jalynn Gignac, and Angelic Montoya.
Jolene retired and moved to Albuquerque with Jack in 1972 where they became avid golfers. She was a longtime volunteer for the Hilltoppers and UNM Lobo Golf teams.
