Johnny Montoya, 66, beloved father, lifetime partner, "Grandpy" and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on October 7, 2015. He entered this world on March 29, 1949 in Mexico City, Mexico, born to Adolfo and Rosina Montoya.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Montoya and Arsencio Montoya (Sapo); his sister, Cecilia Montoya (Pila) and his sister Margaret and brother-in-law, Gilbert Ulibarri.
He is survived by his life-time partner, Alice Vigil; his children, Yvonne Martinez Montoya (Salvador), Melissa Olvera (Vic), Johnny Montoya Jr. (Amanda) and Bobby (Jessica), and grandchildren Izabella, Jazon, Anastazia, Kalya, Jalia, Salvador and Marcus. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Darci D. Vigil (Phil) and Stan Vigil (Bernice); step-grandchildren, Tristyn, Dream, KJ, Adrian, Michael, and Dominic; brothers, Joe (Susie) and Nat (Joann); sisters Martha (Joe) and Rosie (John) and many other family members.
Johnny Yuma, whom we called "Hero," was loved by many and will be missed greatly by his children and numerous friends and family members. Hero will be in Heaven watching his beloved Cowboys play, alongside his sons, for every game. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside.
