John "Jack" James Marron

September 21, 1927 — August 21, 2017

John “Jack” James Marron, age 89, beloved husband and father passed away peacefully, August 21, 2017, surrounded by his family. Jack was born in Butte, Montana in 1927. He served in the Navy, graduated from Berkeley in Engineering, and was recruited by Sandia National Labs in 1954, where he had a successful 40+ year career. He married Joyce Lawrence and had three daughters. A true Renaissance man, he obtained a Fine Art Degree at UNM, was an accomplished sculptor and ceramicist, world traveler, downhill skier, ballroom dancer, fly fisherman, adventurer, avid reader, with an abundant passion for life and great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Marron; sister, Elaine Martinson; and first wife, Joyce L. Marron. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sandra Paules Marron; daughters, Cindy Marron Lyman (Tom), Denise Marron Taylor, and Lisa Marron, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Randall James Martinez; granddaughter, Robin Marie Martinez; step-son, Aaron Bahmer and his daughters, Daphne Bahmer, Emily Bahmer, and Samantha Licklider; great-granddaughter, Kairi; brother-in-law, Charles Martinson; nephews, Mike, Mitch, Ken, and Joe; niece, Lori; and their families.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming, followed by Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Albuquerque. Memorial contributions may be made John’s name to New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation 505-842-8171.
