John Peter Wagner

November 21, 1931 — February 7, 2015

John Peter Wagner, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2015 in Albuquerque NM. John was born in Evanston, IL on November 21, 1931 and joined the USAF in 1951 as an aircraft and jet engine mechanic. He served overseas in England, Guam and Tripoli ultimately being stationed in New Mexico where he gave 21 years of service to the Air Force, followed by 15 years as a civil service maintenance inspector mechanic in Gallup, NM. John continued his love of mechanical engineering by working on cars for family and friends, building and flying radio controlled aircraft and assembling elaborate train displays as a member of the Albuquerque Society of HO Module Engineers. John was a devout and active member of Harvest Fellowship Church, which gave him great strength and guidance, particularly during his illness. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John is survived by Helen Margaret Wagner, the love of his life for over 43 years. John's life will be cherished and celebrated by his four sons, two stepsons, two stepdaughters, 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his brother Robert Wagner and extended family and friends. John is preceded in death by his sisters, Dolores Heitmann, mother, Etola and father, John Sr. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 9:00 a.m., at Harvest Fellowship Church, 5331 Montano Rd NW.
