John Tanny

Tanny, John A Lost his courageous battle with esophageal cancer, May 31, 2014. He was born in Chicago, Ill 1936. He is survived by many people who loved him dearly, including his soul mate, Judy; his loving children, daughters Rita Tanny-Diamond and David, Jennifer and husband Al Belt and Rachel and fiancé Brian Kelly; son, Greg and wife Monica Tanny; grandchildren, Nicole and Courtney Haney, Aubrey Diamond, and Michael, Ashley Tanny, Joshua and Jessica Diamond, Adrian Gutierrez and Janine, Neal Diamond, Sarah Diamond, Michael Tanny and Victoria; seven great - grandchildren, Jeremiah, Aidan, Jonathan, Chiara, Jordan, Sophie and Connor; in - laws, Ted and Diane Beltz, Robert "Bob" Hansen and Artimus, Dick and Janice Hansen; sisters, Jane, Vicky and Jo; brothers, Jim and Jerry; many nieces and nephews. John enjoyed family barbeques, bowling and golf with his favorite "compadre" Bob, coffee and paper in the morning with "Hon", casino trips with Jen and Al, monthly lunches with Greg and Michael, good food, good wine, lots of laughs... good times. John was a letter carrier for 34 years with the U.S. Post Office. He also held many other jobs after retirement, but his favorite was "Ray's" Ace Hardware where he made many good friends.
