92 years old. Resident of Edgewood, N. M. since 1971, died on June 23, 2014, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna; his children, Charles Wayne Tanner and wife, Mary, Sharon Hernandez, Sheryl Padilla and husband, Earl, John David Tanner and wife, Jeanette, Susan Saunders, Thomas Tanner, and Teresa Tanner. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 16 great-children. He served 23 years in the United States Air Force. He enlisted in 1941 in the Army/Air Corps and served in the Pacific in World War II. He was born in Murphy, North Carolina, on February 5, 1922. He has traveled all over the world serving his country. He was a wonderful husband, provider, father, and loved by many. He touched many people with his humor and generous spirit. He will be greatly missed. Public viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. Services will commence Wednesday, June 25, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
