John Alan Stephenson

John Alan Stephenson, age 52, a resident of Los Alamos, NM went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Los Alamos Medical Center, when his heart finally gave out. He is survived by his two sons, Ben Stephenson of Farmington, NM and Logan Stephenson of Tacoma, WA; the mother of his children, Maria Russell of Albuquerque, NM; parents Delphine and Bill Stephenson of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Ken Stephenson and wife, Tammy of Arvada, CO; sister, Cindy Gonzales and husband, Mike of Albuquerque, NM; as well as various nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends. John was born in 1964 in Albuquerque and attended Manzano High School class of 1982. John started at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) over 25 years ago through the Machinists Apprentice Program and has held many positions since then. He was a Production Coordinator at the time of his death. John was an avid hunter, fisherman, and spelunker (cave explorer) and taught many of those skills to his boys. He was very avid about politics and many social causes. He was a loving father, son, brother, and a friend to his neighbors and co-workers and will be missed by all who knew him. He will especially be remembered for his sense of humor and kindness. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held for John on Sunday, January 8, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
