John R. Staley

Age 96, passed away Sept 15, 2014 after a brief illness. He is survived by his sons, Gary Staley and wife, Beth, Ron Staley; grandchildren, Eric Hayden, Robin and many other family and friends. Mr. Staley was preceded in death by his wife, Naoma; his parents and his siblings. John served in the US Army during World War II and Korea before retiring as a Lt. Col. He then taught school and was a school counselor before retiring at age 62. John enjoyed golf and bowling and served in numerous ways at Point Loma Presbyterian Church in San Diego. He moved to Albuquerque in 2012 to be near his son. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley View Christian Church, PO Box 1145, Edgewood , NM. 87015. Services are pending and entombment will take place in San Diego, CA.
