John Roybal

ROYBAL, JOHN B.
Age 86 yrs. young, a resident of Albuquerque, NM and formally longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 1, 2012. He is survived by the love of his life, best friend and spouse of 63 years, Helen Roybal of Albuquerque; his five children, son, John G. Roybal (Susie) of Las Vegas; daughter, Kathy Fielder (David) of Mount Juliet, TN; son, Gary Roybal (Mary); son, Rick Roybal (Yvonne) and daughter, Melissa Nuttall (Michael), all of Albuquerque; sisters, Mary Jimenez and Viola Martinez (Richard); brother, Leo Roybal (Alice); eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Eugenio and Beatrice Roybal; sister, Lucy Montano; brothers, George, Ruben, Henry and Lorenzo Roybal. John was a roofing contractor and owner of Alert Roofing for several years. John was an Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Philippines and received an Asiatic and Pacific Ribbon with one Bronze Star, a Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Ribbon for the Philippian Liberation. He was an avid hunter/fisherman, rancher, and Denver Broncos fan. He loved dancing, bowling, going to the casinos and spending time with his family. He never missed a hunting season! He will always be remembered for being a devoted and loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather and dedicated to his family. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts. Family and friends may visit French - Lomas Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. and Rosary at 6:00 p.m. with Rose Romero reciting and Juan Quintana delivering the eulogy. There will be light refreshments after the Rosary at Fire Station 8, 1400 Indian View Pl NE. Mass will be celebrated 9:00 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Burial will take place at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian Aragon, Anthony and Kelsey Roybal, Chris DeLong; nephews, Larry Tafoya, Antonio Padilla, Alfred Gomez, Anthony Herrera. Honorary Pallbearers will be Antonio Castro, Rick Tafoya, Scott Olive, Pete Castro, Tony Zuma and Ray Hendrix. Please visit our online guest book for John at .
