John Russell Roadcap

Lt. Col. John R. Roadcap, 68, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Richmond, V.A., passed away September 23, 2022, surrounded by family and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Robert R., and Elizabeth S. Road-cap. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Richard F. Roadcap (Norma) of Colonial Heights, Va.; his sister, Beth Tracy (Jon) of Bella Vista, Ark.; his nephew, Bart Tracy (Amanda) and two great-nephews, John Parker, and McCray Tracy, all of Springdale, Ark.

John was a graduate of Florida State University and earned a Master's degree and PhD. from Saint Louis University. He retired from the US Air Force in 2004 after 28 years of service as a meteorologist. He was employed at the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland AFB at the time of his death. During his career as a meteorologist John received many awards and commendations for his forecasting and research.

A memorial service was held September 26 in Albuquerque. The family will later hold a service at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church in Richmond, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Development Fund, Saint Louis University (slu.edu).
