John R. Doughty PhD

Dr. John R. Doughty, 79, went to be with the Lord Jesus on May 10, 2016. He lived a full life. He served as Lt. Col. in the Air Force, received his Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering, was a pilot and chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol, a Professor at Ben Gurion University in Israel, President of Albuquerque Bible College, and one of the founders of the New Mexico Creation Science Fellowship. His work was published in many scientific journals.
John loved planes and trains, but most of all he loved God and his large family. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette M., nine children and their spouses, 25 grandchildren and their spouses, 10 great-grandchildren, and several others who chose him as their mentor and "Grandpa." He is also survived by his sister, Nancy, and leaves many cherished nephews, nieces and cousins. He is now reunited in heaven with his late wife, Betty Jeanette, one son and one granddaughter.
A Visitation will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122. A private interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sandia Presbyterian Church, Watoto Childcare Ministry, NM Civil Air Patrol, or Creation Science Fellowship.
