John Anthony O'Brien

John A. O'Brien was called to his eternal home on March 3, 2022. He was born on May 4, 1937, in Pittsfield, Mass. He is survived by his wife Nancy O'Brien who he was married to for 63 years. His daughters Rooney O'Brien, Maureen O'Brien, her husband Abe Rodolph; his two sons, Chris O'Brien, his wife Rachelle, Tim O'Brien, his wife Michelle. Five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. His brother Terry and two sisters Maureen and Marybeth. He was preceded in death by both parents, his daughter Amy, his sister Jerre, and nephew.

John spent four years in the Air Force and then joined The Albuquerque Police Department in 1959, where he advanced to a Captain and spent 27 years serving the Citizens of Albuquerque. Services to be held Monday, March 14, 2022, at St. John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, in Albuquerque, NM 87111. Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Funeral Mass celebration following. Chris O'Brien, Tim O'Brien, Dillon O'Brien, Sean O'Brien, Cullen O'Brien, Donavan O'Brien, and Richard (Abe) Rodolph will serve as pallbearers.
