MURPHY, JOHN CLYDEWas born on July 5, 1931 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. One of eleven children born to the late Hanibal Martin Murphy and the late Nellie Pearl Murphy and late step-mother Lola Lorene Murphy. John departed this life on July 3, 2012, after a long courageous battle with a serious illness. John attended and graduated from Albuquerque High School where he was a boxer on their championship teams. John served in the U.S. Army Airborne 101st Screaming Eagles as a Paratrooper. John is survived by three brothers, Edward Murphy and wife, Juanita, Joe Murphy, Fred Murphy and wife, Margaret; two sisters, Dollie Thompson, Laura Lipscomb and husband, Don and step-sister, Cleonis Farmer all of Albuquerque, and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Hanibal Jr., Clarence Ira Murphy, Walter Murphy, and two sisters, Lela Mae Mayfield and Jeanine Murphy. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at French Lomas Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sammie Sanders, Nathaniel Murphy, Charles Caldwell, Wesley Chapman, Jessie Murphy, Tyler Caldwell, Jerry Caldwell, Malcolm Shelby and James Kufrovich. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery 2:15 p.m. Monday.
