John Gifford Miner, Sr., age 75, died June 9, 2013 in Albuquerque. He was born in 1937 in St. Louis, MO. In the early '60's John's voice could be heard as the disc jockey "Johnny April" on Albuquerque's KRST where he also served as sound engineer. He later became a Hughes Aircraft field engineer, worked on the Concorde and BART railroad projects, and spent a year in Viet Nam and Alaska. He worked for the Salvation Army, and started the small firm of Miner Electric. John played the guitar and could seemingly fix nearly anything mechanical or electric. Donations are encouraged to the Salvation Army.
