Age 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, died June 10, 2014. He is survived by his spouse of 71 years, Marylin "Lin" Janice McKillip, age 91, of Albuquerque; children, Georgia Marchbanks and husband, Craig of Tampa, FL, Jennifer Kaiser of West Hollywood, CA, Brian Kilcup and wife, Brenda of Corrales, NM, Glen Kilcup and wife, Clara, of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Charmayne Kilcup, Alexis Marchbanks, Cameron Kilcup, Sean Marchbanks, Cailyn Kilcup, Emma Kilcup, and Madeleine Kilcup. A beloved father and husband, John "Jack" was a veteran of the China-Burma-India Campaign of WWII and Korean War. Jack was a kind and caring man who always thought of others first, e.g., he would try to assist you even during times he really needed help himself. He also uplifted and inspired others. While a teacher in CA for most of his career, he was also an enlisted man and later a Captain in the Army, a prune farmer, a sailor, an adventurous traveler an investor, and an accomplished ballroom dancer. He loved to discover new places and meet new people, from Stonehenge to the Greek Isles. Locally, Jack and Lin could often be found dancing on a Sunday afternoon at the Mountain View Club at Kirtland AFB. Although Jack lost his eyesight in recent years, he never complained. He was always a joy to be around and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Monday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH -Wyoming. Interment will follow on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
