A native of New Mexico, was born in Albuquerque on April 4, 1925. He was the son of Chris and Margret Martino. John is survived by his wife of 66 years Maria Herlinda Martino; his brother, Chris; his son, John; daughter, Diana Quinn and four grandchildren, Donna Hayman, Ryan Quinn, Daniel Quinn, and Michael Martino. John was a graduate of Albuquerque High. He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and served on the destroyer U.S.S. South Dakota as Master Bugler. After the war he returned to Albuquerque, and attended the University of New Mexico. He met and married the love of his life, Maria Herlinda Diaz. He spent his business life in the Milk Industry, starting with Creamland Dairies as a home delivery man, and retired as General Manager at Borden's Dairies. Because of John's generous nature, he was able to provide financial assistance to various charitable organizations through his tireless efforts in directing the annual Albuquerque Ice Cream Social. He had many interests and personal achievements included earning his pilot's license for small aircraft to facilitate his business trips. He was also an accomplished outdoorsman with a passion for fly fishing and hunting. He was an avid Lobo Basketball fan. After his retirement he pursued a life-long dream by enrolling in art classes. His paintings, pastels and oils grace many New Mexico homes. He devoted 10 years studying and painting religious icons. He was deeply committed to his faith. John's office may have been in Albuquerque, but his expertise was sought across the United States as well as in Mexico. He was an honorable businessman, which earned him the trust and respect of his associates. His gentle smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
