John Richard Joseph, named after two kings, was born December 13, 1954 in Albuquerque, NM and passed of heart failure on March 25, 2025, in Farmington NM. John was a dynamic individual with many talents. With a 6'8" frame, he was a star college basketball player in his youth and loved following sports. He was a prolific inventor, with dozens of patents in the area of electro-optics, founding two laser optics companies and pursuing technologies that would provide connectivity to underserved populations worldwide. John was also a talented artist, painting and drawing in multiple mediums, and at one point co-owned an art gallery in Fountain Hills, Az. John was such a creative individual. Those who knew John the best however knew his most outstanding characteristic to be his very devout faith in Christ and great compassion and care for his fellow men.
John is survived by his ex-wife of 37 years, Nikki Joseph, his beloved four children, his daughter Nova Lee Walsh and her husband Dan Walsh and their son, Connor; John's son, Alexander Voltaire Joseph; his second son, David Gideon Joseph and his wife Mila and their two children, Maximilian and Celeste Joseph; and his youngest son, Michael Vincent Joseph. John is also survived by his brother Franklin Arthur Joseph Jr., and his sister, Susan Jane and her husband Philip A. Sackinger.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 18, at 10 am at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107, with the burial to follow on the grounds.
