John Robert (Bob) Jewell

John Robert (Bob) Jewell, age 70, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Bob was born in Terre Haute, IN. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gerry Jewell of Albuquerque; children, Bobby (Kelli) Jewell of Littleton, CO, Tommy (Mindy) Jewell, and Lisa (Harold) Johnston, both of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ashton, Braden, Paige, Zach, Sara and Jillian. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Jewell; his brother, Tommy (Danette) Jewell; sisters-in-law, Jane Vance and Diana Jewell; brother-in-law, Jimmy (Barbara) Hay; and numerous nieces, nephews, their families and many other family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Jewell; and his brother, Eugene H. Jewell. He served our country in the United States Air Force and worked at Sandia National Labs for over 37 years and then worked as a contractor with Sandia for an additional 10 years. He and Gerry are members of Sagebrush Church. His family will forever remember him as a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, colleague and role model. He was such a great guy with a big heart. He dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014, 2:00 p.m., at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio Dr. NE.
