John David Gonzales

John David Gonzales passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. John was preceded in his death by his parents, Reynaldo and Rose Gonzales. John is survived by his brother, Larry Gonzales and wife, Kathy; sister, Margaret Gutierrez and husband, Charlie; brother, Rick Gonzales and wife, Myra Ghattas; nieces and nephews, Natalie Debassige and husband, John, Alondra Gonzales, Jamie Gonzales, Charles Gutierrez, Lynea Gonzales Cassandra Gutierrez and Naya Gonzales. John was a warm hearted and giving soul. Two children who held a very special place in John's heart are Lachynna and Mike Smith. He was also the primary caregiver for his Mother prior to her death.
John loved being an armchair quarterback and especially for his beloved San Diego Chargers and was a huge Lobo fan. He had a wonderful musical talent which he pursued through theater and show productions. John was a big Star Trek and science fiction fan. With his incredible memory, he could tell you about any Star Trek, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings episode as if he watched or read it yesterday. Many will remember John for his quick wit. John had a diverse career. After earning his associates degree in GIS technology, his passion became sharing his knowledge as an instructor and mentor at CNM. He will be remembered as a patient and knowledgeable instructor who cared about his students. John will be missed by his family and everyone he touched. Rest in peace Brother!
Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. 5311 Phoenix AVE. NE. Eulogy will begin at 9:20 a.m. with Rosary and Mass to follow.
