John "Jack" Dorso

d. March 22, 2017

John "Jack" Dorso, age 86, passed away in his sleep on the morning of March 22, 2017.

John was born in Hoboken, NJ, and moved to Albuquerque when he was a young man.
John graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1950 and joined the New Mexico Air National Guard. From there, he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. John then went to work for the Public Service Company of New Mexico where he was a computer operator for 31 years. While at PNM, he met his wife, Carolyn Tormey. They would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in June. After retiring from PNM, John worked as a security guard at the Tanoan Communities.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Michael Dorso and wife, Joanne of Tucson, AZ, Mary Neale and husband, David of Happy Valley, OR, and Lisa Baughman and husband, David of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by his sister, Audrey Diesslin and husband, William, of St. Paul, MN. He loved his grandchildren, John and Matthew Dorso, Ashley Neale and Justin and Conor Baughman. He also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard and mother, Audrey as well as his brother, Richard.

He was the man who would have given you the shirt off his back. He was kind, gentle and quiet. He never liked to be the center of attention, so there will be no funeral. Please raise a glass and say a prayer to remember the man who was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

John will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on April 3, 2017 at 12:45 p.m.
